NBSZ Board Secretary Mr Radhi Chikwereti said the meeting slated for February 2, 2018 would try to resolve issues ranging from composition of the bloated board members of services among other issues.
“Notice is hereby given that an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) will be held of the NBSZ will be held on Friday, 2 Febryary 2018 at the NBSZ Boardroom, Mazowe Street North, 17:00 hours for the purposes of transacting the following business and if deemed fit to pass the following resolutions.
“As an ordinary resolution to resolve that, the composition of the board members of the service be reduced from 17 to not more than nine non-executive directors including a representative from the ministry of health and child care and Chief Executive Officer and Ex-officio director of the board,
“We also wish to resolve that the term of the office for a board member be limited to four years renewable once into consideration time already served on the board” said Chikwereti.
Well placed sources within NBSZ say the board is made up of 17 Board members , of which there are no females save for one female CEO while the only director at NBSZ is 74 years old, way above his retirement age.
