In an interview with a source on the ground, general nurses said general nurses did not report for duty.
“Visited Kadoma Gen Hospital and no General Nurses are on duty, only Ward Managers are on duty,” said the source.
The source added that “patients have been discharged.”
Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital also closed its doors with patients being turned away.
“Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital shutting down as we speak. All admitted patients discharged. Strike by nurses and doctors. I’m actually collecting a relative who’s been admitted no hearsay,” said another source.
Hospitals across the country have been brought to a standstill as nurses have taken industrial action over poor working conditions.
Incensed by Government not responding to their demands, nurses began their strike today.
