The National Blood Services Zimbabwe has received $25 000 from state owned operator NetOne which will be used in its blood donation activities.

With a relationship spanning 12 years, NetOne has been assisting NBSZ in various initiatives.
“National Blood Transfusion Services us always one such important organisation. This 2018 partnership marks the 12 th year of NetOne’s continuous support to NBSZ. This partnership started in 2006 and we are proud to have walked this journey all the years,” he said.
The MNO will also be involved in the school campaigns done by NBSZ.
“Beyond the figure, we are also partnering them in every step as they carry out their campaigns. Every school that they visit, NetOne shall be by their side rewarding schools that donate the most blood,” said Mr Muchenje.
Mr Muchenje also urged other corporates to assist NBSZ in their initiatives.
“I urge other corporates to come on board to ensure that the national blood bank is adequately stocked,” he said.
In her acceptance speech, NBSZ chief executive Ms Lucy Marowa said, “I’m humbled this morning as I accept this $25 000 donation this morning which is the financial component,” she said.
She added that in their 12 year relationship, NetOne has been assisting them with caravans used as blood collection centres.
Ministry of Health and Childcare Permanent Secretary Brigadier General (Retired) Dr. Gerald Gwinji who is at the World Health Organisation Assembly sent his voice clip thanking NetOne for their donation.
