The Pharmacists Council of Zimbabwe (PCZ) has published names of practitioners who were deregistered in the Zimbabwean Government Gazette of 27 April 2018.
Speaking to HealthTimes, PCZ said the move came following indications that there were some players in the industry who were operating without licenses or having renewed their licenses.
” 410 pharmacists were deregistered in line with the provisions of section 90(1)(a)(1) of the Health Professions Act [Chapter 27:19].
“The section of the Act speaks to failure to pay fees within the prescribed periods,” said PCZ.
The PCZ regulates the practice of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, optometrists, dispensing opticians and hearing aid specialist in Zimbabwe
According to the Association of Health Funders (AHFOZ) for a Phrmacists to register the following documentation should be availbale: An Original certificate with an uncertified copy to be presented: Relevant Application Form ($25.00), Basic Registration Certificate for the Pharmacist, Current Open Practicing Certificates for the Pharmacist, Registration of Personal Dispensing Licence from MCAZ, Dispensing Licence/Registration of Premises Licence from MCAZ, Registration of Premises Certificate from the Health Professions Authority, City Council Authority Letter/Report for the Premises, Tax clearance certificate from ZIMRA and a Registration Fee ($195.00).
