Free Cleft lip surgeries for Zim Kids

Health Times Reporter

Operation of Hope in collaboration with Schweppes and the University of Zimbabwe will be conducting free Cleft Lip, Cleft palate and craniofacial reconstructive surgeries in Bulawayo and Harare next month.

The move has been driven by increased cases of children suffering from the deformities across the globe.

In a statement, Operation of Hope  said they had partnered Schweppes, UZ, The Ministry of Health  and Child Welfare with the assistance of Zimbabwe Rotary to provide the free surgeries to children living with the conditions.

“If you live in Harare, screening day is Saturday, 20 May 2017 at 8 am at the Harare Central Hospital in Southerton. Patients are encouraged to attend screening day examinations at Harare Central Hospital. Operation of Hope surgeons will examine all potential cases and assign qualified patients for surgery.

“For Bulawayo, screening day is 6 May, 2017 at 8:00 am and  please note that there are limited surgeries available and all candidates must be pre-registered with Bulawayo Mpilo Central Hospital, Mzilikazi,” said Operation of Hope.

Candidates are also required to bring all pertinent medical records and information.
