The congress will take place from 21-22 March 2018 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Speaking to HealthTimes, Clinical Governance Congress Events Manager Mpumi Mhlongo said the gathering will tackle numerous issues affecting the health delivery system and provision of quality healthcare to patients.

“While accountability and improvement have been eminent in health care systems for quite some time, there is probably no other time in history when the relevance and importance of these have been more advocated.

“Learning from our shortcomings and improving our health care system towards better patient care is the goal of clinical governance,” said Mhlongo.

The Clinical Governance Congress is the continent’s largest learning opportunity for Healthcare professionals and is a leading platform for professionals to meet, learn and share the best strategies to improve patient care.

“Clinical governance is integral to healthcare and all healthcare professionals must have an under-standing of both the principles and how to apply them in daily practice.Within the Clinical Governance framework, patient safety is the top priority for all healthcare organizations, with the prevention of avoidable harm a key goal.

“This congress addresses one of the most important issues facing healthcare professionals and policymakers today: how can we ensure that we provide the safest and highest quality health care services within the constraints of the current system.”
