This comes amid requests NBSZ that they were running out of the consumables.
Health and Child Care Minister Dr Obadiah Moyo seeking confirmation from NBSZ chief executive officer Mrs Lucy Marowa was told the money is coming in tranches as they wait for more.
“The money came but we are asking for the remainder. Things are not looking well at all. Especially now with the salary hike in government, my staff is looking up to me waiting for me to ensure that they get an increase,”the NBSZ boss said.
She said while having received money for consumables the working capital lacks.
“What I lack is working capital. But in terms of consumables, all orders have been placed. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) did a disbursement of about US$800 000 which covered me up to the end of December. So I am just waiting for the delivery of test kits, blood bags, reagents and everything. Some have started coming in. I have a batch coming in today,” said Mrs Marowa.
The Health Minister pledged to look into NBSZ’s plea.
