WITH barely three months after being appointed by the Health and Child Care Minister Dr Obadiah Moyo, the new National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm) board sits for its debut board meeting tomorrow morning, HealthTimes has learnt.

NatPharm chairperson Dr Billy Rigava told this publication that appointment of Advocate Rachel Chibaya as Vice Chairperson preceded this meeting, setting the tone for the passing of resolutions. She was selected by the Human Resources Committee, Finance amd Business Development Committee
as well as the Audit risk and legal committee.
All the committees met, in-house induction was done and our very first meeting was immediately after the inauguration when we appointed Advocate Rachel Chibaya the Vice Chair,” he said.
He said they will learn the deliberations and resolutions made by the three committees.
“On top of the agenda is to hear from all three committees on their deliberations and resolutions to be passed by the board. We will have the Bonded warehouse update as well as the strengthening Harare regional stores and warehouse construction updates for Harare, Masvingo and Mutare.
There will be also talk on Toll manufacturing. Then we will also get the updates on the first, second and third quarter medicine supplies country wide,” Dr Rigava said.
The previous board was dissolved the board in line with the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act. The seven-member board, which was chaired by medical practitioner Dr George Washaya, was appointed in 2015 by former Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa.
