Cimas Launches iGo Wellness Hub

CIMAS Medical Aids has launched the  iGo Hub offering integrated health and wellness products for its members.

Housed at Borrowdale Race Course, the iGo Hub for health and wellness buffs comes barely four years after the launch of iGo.

“iGo was launched in 2016 as part of our new thrust to ensure that our members live longer healthier lives.  Externally, this new direction was influenced by the overall theme of SDG3 which is “to ensure healthy lives and promote well being for all at all ages’,” said CIMAS Group Chief executive Mr Vuli Ndlovu.

Explaining the Hub, CIMAS group chief marketing officer Rufaro Masunda said it was something they decided to do to promote health and wellness.

“So what we have said is we have iGo which is our wellness brand but what we want is for us to be able to assist our members in achieving complete wellness. Its not just physical, there are eight dimensions of wellness. These include physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, financial, and environmental, there are eight dimensions. Here at the hub, that’s what we do.

“So we have got counselling services for adults, children. We are doing healing play for children who have experienced trauma in their childhood. We need to take care of their emotional wellbeing whilst they are young so that as they grow it doesn’t begin to manifest itself in bad behaviour or even in chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure.

“We also have our fitness assessments done here if you want our fitness health instructor help you with what whatever goals you want to achieve. We also have a dietician who will assist in diet and food,” she said.

A Cimas Health Promotions Officer Godknows Muperekedzwa said  they have a Heal  And Play Room which helps in identifying sources of trauma in  children.

“We help the child with interventions that unlock his or her potential to heal from within mentally and spiritually,” he said.

Coming out of the Hub was Norma Muzunze from Truworths who as excited about this new program.

“First of all I just want to say congratulations to Cimas for the launch of the iGo Hub. I think it’s something new in Zimbabwe. I love the innovation. I will definitely be coming here often.  I’m going to the office bring in a few friends to come and have a feel. I’m excited about the corporate wellness days. I’m so looking forward to this. I’m a health fanatic. I think we need to look after our health as Zimbabweans,” she said.

She added, “The fact that they have hired different coaches is amazing. They have someone who is going to handle emotional wellness, social wellness just your general wellness spiritual and stuff. They have got different coaches for every section. Beautiful rooms have been set up. One on one sessions, family sessions, for children, I think it is amazing.”
