MASVINGO – A bridge which links Ngomahuru Psychiatric Hospital from Bhati Business Centre along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway has collapsed and is impassable.

Govokwe bridge which is 800m from Ngomahuru collapsed on its left side this morning following recent heavy rains. The bridge is only passable on foot.
Ngomahuru Sister-in-charge and spokesperson Morgan Manzunzu confirmed the matter to The Mirror.
Manzunzu said the hospital is accessible from a road at Ngara Business Centre which is 12km from Bhati in the Beitbridge direction. The Govokwe Bridge road stretches for 8km to reach the hospital with the road at Ngara Business Centre running for 12km.
“Govokwe Bridge collapsed in the morning. It had developed several cracks over the years. The hospital remains accessible from Ngara Business centre. The road is four km longer,” said Manzunzu
