Half A Million People Receive First Dose Of COVID Vaccine In Zimbabwe

ZIMBABWE has to date vaccinated cumulatively 500,422 people with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Zimbabwe.

According to the ministry of health and child care, “22,248 people received their first dose yesterday (May, 7 2021) bringing the cumulative for the first dose to 500,422 while 11 159 received their second bringing cumulative second dose to 140 340.”

To date, a total three vaccines are being administered in the country, namely the Sinopharm, Sinovac both from China and the COVAXIN from India. The Sinopharm has since been listed for Emergency Use by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe has recorded a total 38 403 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic was reported in the country, 36 041 recoveries and 1576 deaths. The c country currently has 786 active COVID-19 cases.
