An information circular seen by HealthTimes stated that the employees were to receive their May’s earnings this month.
“The May 2022 payroll will be processed upon receipt of the Premier Service Medical Ald Society (PSMAS} Employer contribution, which management is currently following up with PSMAS. As per usual cycles, the inflows are expected in the 1st or 2nd week of June 2022, and employees will be updated once the inflows are received,” said PSMI Managing Director Dr Tafadzwa Gutu.
Dr Gutu noted that that the volatile foreign currency exchange rates prevailing in the country forced them to prioritise topping topping up the Medical Aid Employer Contribution.
“We wish to advise our valued staff members that PSMI has received the PSMAS Employee contribution for May 2022. However, owing to the continued movement in the exchange rates, the inflows are not sufficient to fund the full payroll cost. As such, following consultations, it was deemed prudent to utilize these Inflows towards topping up the PSMAS Employer Contribution so that we are able to meet the full May 2022 payroll obligations, including transport allowances,” he said. “Accordingly, the May 2022 payroll will be processed upon receipt of the PSMAS Employer contribution, which is expected by the 2nd week of June 2022, and employees will be updated once the inflows are received.”
