Health and Child Care Minister Dr Douglas Mombeshora is expected to officiate the Harare Public Health Institute’s third graduation ceremony tomorrow.
Over 300 graduands will be conferred with certificates and diplomas.
“In my capacity as the Chairperson of the Harare Institute of Public Health, We are very excited to announce that on Friday 6th of September we will be hosting the class of 2023 graduation ceremony in Harare. Graduands from our different faculties will be awarded various national certificates and diplomas,” said HIPH chairperson Professor Simon Mukwembi who is also the University of Witwatersrand Head of the School of Mathematics.
He added, “As HIPH, we are determined to walk the talk and complement the government of Zimbabwe towards attaining objectives of Vision 2030, that is, to turn Zimbabwe into an upper-middle income economy.
“In that regard, our institutions have committed building Zimbabwe holding the health workforce brick. We are beyond conviction that, a healthy people are a pillar for a prosperous nation. The graduands from HIPH will become a competent health force and aid in provision of quality healthcare.”
HIPH principal Dr Amos Marume said Health Minister would be the guest of honour.
“We have engaged the Ministry of Health and maybe if you don’t already know, the Honorable Minister is the one who is our guest of honour tomorrow,” he said.
This year’s graduation has the highest number of graduands given last year, HIPH had 156 people graduating after excelling and completing studies as pharmacy technicians, dispensary assistants and public health practitioners.
