The officers will be in selected according to enumeration areas gathering identification details of households.

The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) will be conducting the household listing exercise for the 2023 Zimbabwe Demographic and Health Survey (ZDHS) from 6th September to 16th September 2023.

“The listing exercise involves Zimstat enumerators visiting all households in selected Enumeration Areas with the aim of collecting basic identification details of the household which include names of heads of households,” said Zimstat in a statement.

This exercise serves as a precursor to data collection for the survey which begins next month.

“This is an important exercise in preparation for the data collection exercise of the survey which is expected to commence in October 2023 and ending in April 2024,” noted Zimstat.

Added Zimstat, “The ZDHS listing exercise is going to be conducted under the provisions of the Census and Statistics Act and information collected is strictly confidential and will be used for statistical purposes only.

ZIMSTAT seeks cooperation from all sampled households in the selected enumeration areas.”

Between the 2015 DHS to date, efforts have been made to cover the time-gap through surveys such as the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS 2019) which had indicators such as nutrition, and maternal health to mention but these.
