ZNFPC appoints Machinga as the new CEO

Harare: Farai Machinga is the new substantive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) having been in an acting role for some time.

In a statement, ZNFPC said Machinga took the position since the beginning of this month.

Mr Machinga is a distinguished public health specialist with over a decade of extensive experience across various developmental sectors including government, and non-governmental settings,” said ZNFPC.

“In his previous role as acting CEO, Mr Machinga led ZNFPC to many outstanding corporate and personal achievements. He was voted as the Outstanding CEO in Parastatals and Public Governance among other recognitions. Mr Machinga has served as Director Technical Services and acting CEO of ZNFPC among other roles. His track record of operational excellence, strategic foresight, as well as regional and international engagement positions him uniquely to lead ZNFPC into its next chapter, one that demands innovation, resilience and bold thinking.”

Machinga was excited talking about his new role under the parastatal under the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

“I am driven by the power of team work and committed to continuous professional growth.  I am committed to strengthening partnerships, fostering innovation, and building resilient systems that respond to the needs of our people, especially youth, women, men, including persons with disability and marginalized communities to ensure that we leave no one and no place behind,” said Machinga.

He added that he would invest in  ZNFPC’s staff, partners, and clients.

Sustainable progress begins with empowered individuals and resilient systems,” he said.  “Together with our dedicated staff, stakeholders, and partners, we will deepen our impact, uphold our standards of excellence, and ensure that ZNFPC remains a beacon of leadership in family planning and reproductive health. I am encouraged as a Chief servant of the communities by Philippians 4 vs 13 which says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
