IN a new twist to the ongoing Chitungwiza Hospital saga which has seen staffers and health personal go on a crippling strike, the Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Mr Obidiah Moyo is being accused of having strong G40 links and abusing the hospital canteen to feed his G40 thugs.
In a statement circulated by the Chitungwiza Nurses Union, they accused Moyo of running down the institution and diverting funds meant for developing the institution to fund his political carrier and personal gains.
“It is in the public domain that the CEO is a member of the G40 cabal and as such he was conducting rallies at the Hospital’s , main kitchen providing them food from the Mahiya canteen and using Hospital money to impress his supporters for the scheduled 2018 harmonised elections if he is still to contests for Zengeza as an MP.
“All staff including student nurses were being fetched by the hospital bus and forced to register to vote. Official hospital vehicles are being misused by the CEO’s close surbodinates for example Makechemu and Watambwa for their personal business at the expense of official hospital business,” said the statement.
According to sources close to the shenanigans, the Hospital was given $600 000 by the government but only $200 000 was used to acquire equipment from Bandex company and whereabouts the of the $400 000 balance remain a mystery.
“On the acquisition of his (CEO) range rover Sports, he arm-twisted the PPPs to give him $10 000 as deposit from each and to date the hospital is paying $3000 per month towards that vehicle. They added of all the PPPs only Baloon’s contract was entered into above board please kindly check how the others were engaged and on top of that all the PPPs are not benefiting the community because all the PPPs are expensive which gives credence to the fact that they are the CEO’s cash cows.
“Borrowdale residents do not pay for service rendered at the Hospital,a stamped note is generated from the CEO’s and a surbodinate(Gideon Mapokotere) is ordered to move around with them getting prefferential treatment and they end up in the CEO’s private rooms at the expense of the deserving members of Chitungwiza community.
[pullquote]“Dromic Construction is being paid by the hospital but the CEO is using the the same company for his personal work at Spillway and his residendial place in Borrowadale and at his farm.”[/pullquote]
They added that the Hospital was given $50 000 to obtain gas from Boc gases but surprising only $20 000 was used obviously at the behest of the CEO and its so painful to witness patients dying because of lack of oxygen when the Government had made an effort to alleviate unnecessary deaths at the Hospital a case in point a recent maternal death due to lack of oxygen and the other resources.
