THE first batch of a consignment of medical equipment has arrived from the United Arab Emirates which consists of dialysis machines, respiratory moknitors, incubators and continuous positive airway pressure monitors.

This batch comes barely three months after the UAE government officials come to Zimbabwe.
“I would like to welcome you to this special occasion. Its very important because we are now seeuing and witnessing the fruition of the efforts of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa when he travels out of Zimbabwe seeking for assistance. The assistance is for real ladies and gentlemen.
“In terms of health, His Excellency has been able to secure quite a considerable amount of equipment for us. There are dialysis machines. You know only this morning I had patients in my office saying they needed more dialysis machines. And look at what has happened God has answered their prayers,” he said.
He revealed the contents of the consignment.
“So we have five dialysis machines which have come through which have been donate by the United Arab Emirates. We have devices for ensuring that the respiratory system of babies in intensive care is well maintained. We have received about 12 of such units the CPAC units. We habe got monitors, Multi parameter monitors which we have also received . We have got incubators whixh were in short supply in the country at our health institutions, so the united arab emirates have done us wonders by providing us with these gadgets,” the Minister said,
Dr Moyo said Harare Hospital will receive most of the donations with some going to other hospitals. He said much is yet to come including medicines and could not divulge the worth of the medicines.
“All I can say is that it could run into millions of United States Dollars,” he said.
He said the UAE officials pledged to renovate the Harare Hospital.
