In an update, the hospital also indicated that 70 staff members from the health institution have so far tested positive for the virus.
For the period 9 June 2020 up to 25 July 2020, 60 COVID-19 positive patients have been admitted. For the period under review, 70 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19, of which 64 are from non-COVID-19 areas while six work directly in the COVID-19 centre.
“We have recorded eight deaths out of the 60 patients who were admitted in the red zone. Of the bodies that were brought in dead, 13 tested positive for COVID-19,” said the Hospital.
The institution says it has escalated testing and screening of staff so as to curb unnecessary spread of the disease in both the red zone and non-COVID-19 areas.
