A University of Zimbabwe (UZ) student, Victor Washaya (35) who recently got a place to study for a Bachelor of Pharmacy Honors Degree at the institution is appealing for financial help and resources to use during his studies.
By Staff Reporter
Victor was involved in a road traffic accident in March 2015 which saw him sustaining a complete spinal cord injury at Level T11/12 and got paralyzed from the waist downwards.
“When I grew up it was my wish to study Pharmacy but due to some poor family backgrounds I couldn’t manage to do so, but through soldering I managed to go to the university of Zimbabwe and presented my issue and I later on applied and I got a place to study Pharmacy degree. The University will pay fees for me after they have considered my disability, so I am now kindly requesting help from well-wishers to help me with money and resources to use during my study period since it is a full time program. I am looking for resources like a wheelchair, laptop and a printer and other useful materials, which will make my stay, and studying at the university , more comfortable. See attached documents for my offer letter as well as a letter from the doctor describing my disability,” said Victor.
