THE Adult Rape Clinic is calling on all victims of rape to seek medical assistance from nearest clinics within 72 hours to avoid pregnancy, HIV infection among other health complications.
Their call comes hot on the heels of numerous reports of rape obtaining around the country as a result of the military and police crackdown on-citizens following last week’s protests.
Through their micro-blogging site, Adult Rape Clinic said rape victims do not need to produce a police report to get medical attention at any health institution.
“Receiving Medical Treatment after rape is an emergency. Survivors can access services with or without making a police report. Rush to your nearest clinic within 72hrs.”
According to media reports, not less than 11 women have been raped ever since the crackdown began last week after the countrywide protests which rocked the country following a fuel hike announcement by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
