The Zimbabwe Association of Church-Related Hospitals (ZACH) has appointed Dr Nonhlanhla Zwangobani as its new Executive Director.
Her appointment follows the retirement of Mrs Vuyelwa Chitimbire, who has served the organisation for 25 years.
The announcement was made through ZACH’s official Facebook page.
“Her leadership transformed ZACH from a small local organisation into a respected regional and international player in the health sector,” said ZACH in the post.
The organisation further noted that under her stewardship, ZACH strengthened governance systems, navigated complex funding landscapes, and forged lasting partnerships with CDC and other key stakeholders.
“Perhaps most impactful is the strong, professional team she leaves behind, which continues to drive excellence across ZACH and its mission hospitals. As we honour this legacy, we are equally excited to usher in a new era.”
The Board confirmed the appointment of Dr Zwangobani as ZACH Executive Director, saying is well positioned to adapt to changing health and funding environments while sustaining its impact.
Dr. Zwangobani is a qualified medical doctor. She is holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine & Surgery from University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Public Health from University of Sheffield.
She also served as the Technical Director of Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council, a parastatal under the Ministry of Health and Child Care, in charge of all clinical programs including family planning, HIV prevention, training and adolescent programs.
