Aspiring Nurses Stranded As Recruitment Platform Malfunctions

ASPIRING nurses last week had a torrid time accessing the e-Nurses recruitment website application.
The platform unleashed a month ahead of schedule saw applicants failing to either upload required documents or proceed with the stipulated ZW$10 Ecocash payment.
Worse yet the site was inaccessible.
Efforts to get a comment from the Ministry’s Nursing Director Mrs Cynthia Chasokela were fruitless by the time of publishing as her phone went unanswered.
The platform was designed by Chinhoyi University of Technology.
A source who requested anonymity said nurses were failing to apply for the site was marred with glitches.
“The Nurse eReg site was down last week. Having problems since monday or so.
“I also understand some nurses failed to upload their documents and also  there were times the site wouldnt load,” said the source. ” Apparently CUT which was running it might not have pre-tested it.”
With just three days before the deadline, the site is now up after some tweaks following complaints.
The platform is expected to curb rampant corruption where hopefuls would allegedly pay hospital officials US$2 000.
The Health Ministry last Sunday invited applications for the recruitment of nurses through an advertisement in the local newspapers.
