26 ZANU PF HQ Staffers Test Positive For COVID-19

ZANU-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity and Party Spokesperson, Mr Patrick Chinamasa has confirmed that 26 ZANU PF employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, Mr Chinamsa said the affected have since been quarantined in compliance with the World Health Organisation (WHO) requirements.

In compliance with the WHO protocols requiring institutions and individuals to be tested for COVID-19, ZANU PF directed that its staff members working at the Headquarters be tested for COVID-19.

“The total number of personnel who underwent mandatory testing on 28 July 2020 is 154. The results have just come out showing that 26 tested positive to covid19. Those affected are being informed. Those who have since been informed have been advised to go into self-isolation in line with the normal World Health Organisation (WHO) protocols on CovId19,” said Mr Chinamasa.

He added that those who are symptomatic have been advised to seek immediate and urgent seediest attention.

“The Party is undertaking to hold periodic testing of its staff and leadership for covid19 in order to ensure that the working environment is safe. The Party HQ is being fumigated by health officers and members of staff have been asked to stay home during this process.

“Dr David Parirenyatwa is supervising the fumigation proms. The Party wishes those affected a quick recovery.”
