MORE than 20 Media, Communication, Film And Theatre Arts students at the Midlands Sate University have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the institution’s authorities to move some the students to the Gweru main campus for quarantine.

Students who spoke to the HealthTimes on grounds of anonymity said they were traumatized to attend classes even though authorities were pushing for resumption of classes.
Some of the students who tested positive are are being moved to Gweru, some moved yesterday for quarantine. These are Media and Society Studies students. They are saying resume lectures, but the students are too traumatized and today they some of the students absconded lectures,” said one of the Students who spoke to this publication.
Contacted for comment, the Midlands State University Marketing and Public Relations Director Mrs Mirirai Mawere said she not a position to comment and referred us the provincial COVID-19 task-force.
“Thank you for the concern. However, may l refer you to the Midlands province Covid Taskforce who are best placed to comment on COVID 19 situation and statistics,” said Mrs Mawere.
